Caroline Lucas is backing an emergency rescue plan for British solar
power that is being put forward as a solution to the current crisis
surrounding proposed 87% cuts to the Feed-in Tariff for solar.
She met solar industry representatives during a solar action
day outside the House of Commons to promote the £1 plan, as a growing number of
voices are calling on the Government to reconsider its plans.
In Brighton Pavilion it is estimated that 190 people are employed in the
solar industry and its supply chain. The Solar Trade Association estimates
that, on average, 152 solar jobs could be at risk in each constituency across
the country.
