Council Executive votes for housing on Kingsmead Field.

At a meeting on Monday 12th November the Executive of Canterbury City Council confirmed it’s decision to sell off Kingsmead Field for housing. This decision is deeply unpopular with the local community and highly contentious. Not one of the Executive members who voted on this issue represents a Canterbury ward.

However, the Save Kingsmead Field campaign feel that even at this stage, all is not lost for the field. The Village Green application will be processed by Kent County Council in the New Year, and this still offers potential hope.
